Positive Change Behavior Coach (“Positive Change Behavior Coach,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and disclosed when you use the Positive Change Behavior Coach website and application (the “Service”).
Positive Change Behavior Coach is designed for educators and other adults seeking general educational behavior-support guidance. The Service is not intended for students to create or manage their own accounts.
Our Privacy Approach
Positive Change Behavior Coach is designed to minimize the collection of student information.
The Service does not require student names to use its behavior-support tools. Behavior Detective is designed around non-identifying labels such as “Student 1” and “Student 2,” but those labels do not make imported records anonymous with respect to the authenticated adult account.
Users should not enter student names, initials, dates of birth, student numbers, diagnoses, school names, classroom identifiers, teacher names, contact information, or other information that could identify a student.
Positive Change Behavior Coach is not intended to serve as a student record system, educational record repository, medical record system, or clinical record system.
Information We Collect
Depending on how a person uses the Service, information may include:
Account Information
- Internal account identifier
- Authentication provider identifier
- Verified email address when available through the authentication provider
- Account creation and related account timestamps
Subscription Information
- Subscription status
- Trial/introductory access status
- Stripe customer/subscription identifiers needed to administer subscriptions
- Billing entitlement information
- Relevant subscription dates and status
Payment card information is processed by Stripe. Positive Change Behavior Coach does not store complete payment card numbers or card security codes.
User-Created Service Data
Saved Strategies and Behavior Detective profiles and observations are stored with the authenticated adult account. Signing into the same account on another device retrieves those account records.
Temporary unfinished workflow and retry information may be stored in browser session storage when needed to recover safely from a refresh or uncertain request. Logout and account switching clear account-specific browser-visible state without deleting account-owned server records. The Service may store:
- Saved Strategies
- Non-identifying Behavior Detective profiles
- Non-identifying behavior observations
- Technical identifiers necessary to associate those records with the correct account
- Other data necessary to provide those specific features
Obsolete development-era device-local Saved, Detective, Import, and draft records are retired rather than assigned, uploaded, displayed, copied, quarantined, exported, or offered through a claim workflow.
Behavior Detective provides generated student labels and controlled selections rather than identifying student-information or free-text fields. Users are instructed not to enter identifying student information.
Technical and Security Information
Technical information that the implementation collects or necessarily processes includes:
- Session information
- Authentication and session cookies
- Security and request information
- Server logs or similar technical information retained by the deployed architecture
- Network and device request information processed when third-party fonts are delivered
Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Positive Change Behavior Coach is not designed to collect:
- Student names
- Student initials
- Student numbers
- Student dates of birth
- Student email addresses
- School or classroom identifiers attached to student profiles
- Medical records
- Clinical records
- Formal diagnoses as student profile data
Users should not enter this information into the Service.
How We Use Information
Information may be used to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Authenticate accounts
- Preserve account-owned Saved Strategies and non-identifying Behavior Detective information associated with the adult account
- Administer introductory and paid access
- Process and reconcile subscriptions
- Provide customer support
- Maintain security and prevent misuse
- Diagnose technical problems
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
Personal information is not sold.
Coach Processing
When a user uses Coach, selections are processed to provide the applicable educational behavior-support guidance. Coach uses a server-side decision-support system.
Coach output is educational decision-support guidance and not a diagnosis, professional assessment, medical advice, mental-health advice, or individualized professional consultation.
Behavior Detective
Behavior Detective allows adults to record controlled observations and notice possible repeated contextual relationships. Generated student labels and observations are associated with the authenticated adult account and are not anonymous from that account.
Profiles use automatically generated labels such as Student 1 and Student 2.
Behavior Detective does not diagnose the function or cause of behavior.
Users must not enter identifying student information.
Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe.
Stripe may collect and process transaction and payment information according to its own privacy practices.
Positive Change Behavior Coach does not store complete payment card numbers or card security codes.
Service Providers
Trusted service providers may process limited information as necessary to operate the Service, including:
- Replit for hosting, infrastructure, and authentication
- Stripe for subscription and payment processing
- Google for delivery of hosted fonts; font requests may include information such as IP address, browser or device information, and request metadata
Providers may process information according to their own terms/privacy practices and as necessary to provide their services.
Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain legitimate business/security records, administer subscriptions, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Account-owned data may remain associated with an account until it is deleted or deletion is requested, subject to legitimate legal/security/backup retention requirements.
Temporary unfinished workflow or retry information may remain only for the current browser session and authenticated account. Logout or account switching clears account-specific browser-visible state. Deleting a Detective profile or observation removes the corresponding account record as described in the Service; account deletion requests remain subject to legitimate legal, security, and backup retention requirements.
Security
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used to protect information.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
International Processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s own, including the United States, and information may therefore be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
Children and Students
Positive Change Behavior Coach is designed for educators and other adults, not for children to create accounts or independently use as consumers.
The Service intentionally minimizes student data and instructs users not to enter identifying student information.
If we learn that personal information about a child has been submitted contrary to these requirements, users may contact us regarding appropriate deletion or remediation.
Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights relating to access, correction, or deletion of their personal information.
