Notice patterns over time without labeling students.
Behavior Detective is the longer-term observation tool in Positive Change Behavior Coach, using an evidence-informed observation structure. Educators record structured ABC-style observations—what happened before, the observable behavior, and what followed—under generated anonymous labels, then review possible contextual relationships as observations build over time. Where Coach supports the immediate moment, Detective supports reflection across repeated events, without student names or identifying information. It does not determine behavioral function. It does not conduct a formal Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) or diagnose behavior.
Structured ABC observations
Every behavior happens in a context. Recording Antecedent, Behavior, and Consequence details helps clarify what might be shaping a challenging situation.
- Generated labels such as 'Student 1' keep identities safe (no student-name field).
- Account-owned observations stay securely with your adult login.
- Repeated observations reveal emerging or repeated pattern concepts.
- Explore strategies practically related to those observed relationships.
Possible Pattern Noticed
Across 4 observations, behavior frequently occurred after a difficult task was presented, followed by task delay or avoidance.
Cautious, supportive insights
Behavior Detective uses cautious "possible-pattern" language. It helps educators notice repeated contexts, but it does NOT determine behavioral function or conduct a formal Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) or functional analysis.
